ENSCRYPT
An encryption utility for Macintosh communications
EnScrypt is a suite of applications (written in Applescript) providing high quality and easy-to-use encryption and digital signatures for many of the applications Mac enthusiasts use for text processing and communication. Different modules in the suite work with various applications including Eudora, Entourage, Mail (Apple), Tex-Edit Plus, Microsoft Word. More are on the way. Each module is designed to be fully compatible with every other module, meaning that users can create encrypted text with one application, send the message to a correspondent, who can then decrypt it with a different application.
The typical use for EnScrypt would be secure communications. Because it uses a state-of-the-art encryption algorithm (Blowfish) with a 128 bit key, you would probably call it "strong encryption", although the use of shorter or overly simple passwords would surely compromise the security. EnScrypt also includes "SHA1" for digital signatures.
RING MY CHIMES
Alarms and Chimes for management of play and work
Ring My Chimes is a tool for keeping you and your regular duties on track. Configure it with up to twelve (12) tasks per hour. Each can take the form of an applescript, an application, or a URL. At the top and the bottom of the hour, you will also be reminded of the correct time. The application comes with a set of scripts that are helpful for the typical user;
- "Wisdom"... Displays a random motivational saying from your own saved list.
- "Shuffletune"... Plays a single random tune from iTunes.
- "TrashDay"... Checks your trash and prompts you to empty it.
