Borderless Blog Journal of Cyber Kinetic IP news What is Cyber Kinetic IP ? Cyber- means pertaining to computers, or more specifically "cybernetics" which denotes speech and other functional processes. Kinetic refers to kinetic energy, the motion and acceleration of bodies and processes in space as they relate to each other. "IP" refers to Internet Protocol. Cyber Kinetic IP is therefore an IP service with multi-media communication features, usually with integration of voice (voice over IP or "VOIP"), video, text, and data sharing. These communication forms are combined in varying ways to achieve a result in communication that is more effective and seamless than its component parts. CKIP however does not mean any grab-bag combination of cyber services in a single package. It does not include older non-IP technologies such as analog voice, fax, paging, and SMS, or aging wireless technologies such as the second generation GPRS, or even third generation UMTS services. The acronym (CKIP) is thought to be the origin of the word "Skype". This is appropriate because Skype combines in a single IP channel all four types of communication; voice, video, text, and data. In upcoming blog postings, I'll discuss how Cyber Kinetic IP communication compares to its competition. |
