January 13, 2007......... Skype bounces back

So here we are a few weeks after the Christmas holidays, and entering the new year. The pattern of Skype usage matches last year very closely; a dip beginning 2 weeks before Christmas and a full recovery 2 weeks after Christmas. If anything, this year's holiday dip was deeper than last year, and bounce back stronger, but only slightly.

In the bounce back, both Europe and Asia still seem to be experiencing weak growth, and surprisingly strong growth is still coming from the Americas. Relative strength so far is found on evenings and weekends, meaning that enterprise usage of Skype is still not what some are claiming. I'll post numbers in a few weeks when the trends are well confirmed.
